The Biomove is not for everyone. If you are a caregiver or stroke (brain attack) survivor then you need to understand who can benefit or who is the most likely person to benefit from the Biomove 5000 device. It is pointless to thrust this device or this technology on a stroke survivor who will not benefit from its use.

There are both physical and mental aspects to this answer:

  • The Biomove is designed to help with recovery of the arms and/or legs. It is not designed for use on other parts of the body. See "How It Works"

  • It is important that the user must have reasonable cognitive skills and be able to understand how to apply and use the Biomove. Sometimes the very old and infirm are not good candidates for this technology. See "Biomove FAQ"

  • The user needs to have some very minimal functional use of the affected muscles which will be treated. The movement of a finger or toe is a positive indication that the Biomove can help but if an individual has no voluntary movement whatsoever then it is unlikely that the Biomove will help. Quantitatively, the device needs a minimum EMG (electromyographic) signal at the skin surface of less than a few micro volts. This very small value is normally attained if one can simply move a finger or toe even slightly.

The Biomove has received certification by the FDA. (Click Here for more information). The FDA has indicated in a 510K that the Biomove Systems can be used for:

  • Stroke Rehabilitation by Muscle Re-education

  • Prevention or retardation of disuse atrophy

  • Increasing blood circulation,

  • Muscle re-education and

  • Maintaining or increasing range of motion.

In closing; When one starts treatment between two weeks and 3 months post stroke this technology is most beneficial. However: it is also can be very beneficial even when beginning training up to five years or more, post stroke. Recovery, as you might expect takes more time and dedication when the training is started after such a long time due to disuse since the affected muscles have become very "stiff", but with dedication improvement is still possible.

It's important to us that we have happy customers who benefit from the Biomove. Please help us to help you and improve your quality of life or that of your loved one!
